thoughts on rebonding rabbits

Like any relationship, long-term bonds can be broken. In these instances, rabbits will need to be reintroduced to each other.

There are only two times where we have to say separate: a long-term hospitalization where the clinic is unable to provide a plexiglass divider or when your rabbits are fighting to unalive each other. In either instance, rebonding will need to occur.

If a serious injury occurs during the fight, we suggest keeping them separate while the other/s is/are in recovery. Rabbits have a very strong emotional memory, and therefore can hold grudges.

We rebond the same way we do our initial bond: with patience. We are still observing behaviors and doing our best to walk that fine line of allowing the rabbits to communicate amongst themselves and knowing when to intervene.
