We understand that life doesn't always go according to plan. Due to high demand and limited availability for our Long Beach rabbit boarding, bonding, and grooming services, please review our cancellation policies carefully.

All policies are subject to change.

Burrow Retreat | Rabbit Bonding

Cancellation Policy

Rabbit bonding retreats are scheduled in advance with your rabbits as our only fluffle during that time period.

Cancellation notice required: 7 days
Late cancellation penalty: Full deposit forfeited

Rescheduling Policy

Rescheduling notice required: 7 days
Late rescheduling penalty: $100 reschedule fee + moved to end of waitlist

Exception for Pet Illness

Veterinarian's note required to avoid fees if your rabbit becomes ill before the retreat.

Our Right to Reschedule

We reserve the right to postpone and reschedule any retreat due to rabbit or human illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Burrow StayCation | Small Pet Boarding

When you make a reservation, we hold your pet's space and often reach full capacity. This means we must turn away other guests. Timely cancellation allows us to offer that space to others on our waitlist.

Peak Season Cancellation Policy

Cancellation notice required: 30 days

When you cancel a peak season boarding reservation -

With 30+ days notice:

  • Immediate refund: 0%

  • Reservation-fill refund: 100% if we rebook your dates (see below)

  • Potential total refund: 100%

With less than 30 days notice:

  • Full deposit forfeited

  • No refund available

Reservation-Fill Refund Details:
To receive the 100% refund, your cancelled reservation must be filled by another guest who:

  • Reserves the same dates (within 7 days of your original start date)

  • Pays for the full staycation value (not a partial stay)

  • Submits their deposit

Once we receive the replacement reservation deposit, we will process your full refund within 7-10 business days.

Example: If you cancel a July 4-11 peak season reservation with proper notice (30+ days), you receive 0% immediately. If another family books July 4-11 (or June 27-July 11, or July 4-15, etc.) and submits their deposit, you receive 100% refund.

2026 Peak Periods:

  • January 1-4

  • February 12-17

  • March 29-April 17 (spring)

  • May 20-27

  • June 1-September 8 (summer)

  • November 23-December 2 (Thanksgiving)

  • December 17-January 5, 2027 (holidays)

2027 Peak Periods:

  • January 1-10

  • February 10-17

  • March 7-April 18 (spring)

  • May 23-31

  • June 1-September 12 (summer)

  • November 21-December 3 (Thanksgiving)

  • December 12-January 10, 2028 (holidays)

Non-Peak Season Cancellation Policy

Cancellation notice required: 14 days (2 weeks)

When you cancel a non-peak boarding reservation -

With 14+ days notice:

  • Immediate refund: 50% of deposit

  • Reservation-fill refund: Additional 50% if we rebook your dates (see below)

  • Potential total refund: 100%

With less than 14 days notice:

  • Full deposit forfeited

  • No refund available

To receive the additional 50% refund, your cancelled reservation must be filled by another guest who:

  • Reserves the same dates (within 7 days of your original start date)

  • Pays for the full staycation value (not a partial stay)

We reserve the right to reschedule any staycation reservations due to facility issues, illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Burrow Spa Day | Mobile Grooming

Deposit Requirement

A deposit is required to confirm your Spa Day appointment.

Deposit deadline: At least 72 hours prior to scheduled appointment
If deposit is not received: If we do not receive your deposit at least 72 hours before your scheduled appointment, we will assume you no longer wish to proceed and will release your time slot to other clients on our waitlist.

We will send a courtesy reminder, but it is your responsibility to ensure timely payment.

Mobile grooming appointments share limited daily slots. When you reserve, we must turn away other clients.

We reserve the right to reschedule spa day appointments due to illness, emergencies, vehicle issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Burrow Consultations | Virtual & In-Person

Cancellation Policy

Consultation appointments share the same scheduling slots as spa days and other services.

Cancellation notice required: 72 hours (3 days)
Late cancellation penalty: Full deposit forfeited

Our Right to Reschedule

We reserve the right to reschedule consultations due to illness, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances.

  • Your name

  • Service type (Retreat, StayCation, Spa Day, Consultation)

  • Original appointment date

  • Reason for cancellation (if requesting exception)

Response time: Please allow up to 48 hours for confirmation of your cancellation or rescheduling request.

Emergency Exceptions

We understand that true emergencies happen. If you or your pet experiences a medical emergency, please contact us immediately. We will work with you on a case-by-case basis.

Documentation may be required:

  • Veterinary records for pet illness or injury

  • Other documentation for extenuating circumstances

Deposits & Refunds

Non-refundable circumstances:

  • Late cancellations (within the notice period specified above)

  • No-shows without prior notice

  • Failure to meet vaccination requirements (RHDV-2 for rabbits) or provide wellness documentation (guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats + hamsters)

Refundable circumstances:

  • Cancellation with proper notice during non-peak season (partial)

  • Bun Chia Burrow-initiated cancellations (full refund)

Refund processing: Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days of cancellation confirmation to the original form of payment.
